Lara Devereux
Senior Consultant
Where was I born.
Born and raised in Auckland, although on a small farm if that gives me some credit.
What was I doing before I joined Gaulter Russell.
After gaining a BBS majoring in HR at Massey University in Palmerston North, I headed overseas travelling, windsurfing and skiing my way around Europe. Back home to reality saw me entering the recruitment industry spending 4 years in a small boutique firm. In 1997 I moved to a larger HR Services corporate recruiting senior management roles and then managing the recruitment team. After 7 years, and 4 children later, I looked for a new opportunity with an entrepreneurial team and where I could balance work and family life.
Why do I work at Gaulter Russell.
I wanted an entrepreneurial and innovative company which was able to be flexible to suit the needs of their clients and who would challenge traditional recruitment approaches. I was also looking for like-minded people who are hardworking but value family and fun. Plus Parnell is just 10 minutes from home - no motorway traffic!
What do I do at Gaulter Russell.
I began with Gaulter Russell as a Senior Consultant working across all levels and industries. However, I was passionate about our database and our knowledge of the top talent in NZ sales and marketing, so in 2007 I started leading the sourcing area searching out NZ’s top talent as well as ensuring our database was unsurpassed for sales and marketing people. In late 2008, I returned to my fulltime Consulting role working predominantly in the FMCG/Consumer business.
What do I do with my spare time.
When I have some spare time I’ll let you know! Family is really important to me, I have four children so most of my down time is spent relaxing and having fun with them!
