Refine your job search

Now is a great time to stop and think about what it is that you are hoping to get out of a new role. Are you looking for better pay or a senior position with more responsibilities? Maybe you are looking for a change in location or better company culture. Assessing these factors will allow you to refine your job search and make it easier for you to find a job that aligns with what you want.


Reflect on your efforts so far

Have you been job-hunting for a while? If so, take some time and reflect on what has been working well and what you need to improve.  Perhaps you get many interviews that don’t lead to job offers, so you find your interview skills need some sharpening. You may discover your resume or cover letter has spelling mistakes, which are preventing you from reaching the interview stage. Reflecting on these aspects will help you to improve and ensure your job hunt is as successful and effective as it can be.


Update your application tools

If you’re just starting your job hunt, it’s probably been a while since you’ve updated your resume and LinkedIn. Don’t forget to tailor your CV to the job you’re applying for, and make sure your LinkedIn profile is complete.
