Due to an internal promotion, our Client is looking for an energetic and driven Business Development Manager who also loves nurturing relationships within an existing portfolio of customers.

The Company

Our Client is a global organisation with of over 17,700 staff in 34 countries. With a strong ethical foundation, they encourage collaboration and engagement across and through all levels of the organisation.
They produce and source a number of plastic, paper and fibre board products for iconic New Zealand business customers.

 
The Role

This is a technical role with scope for innovation, either developed locally or across global business units.  The role is mixed with about 50% Sales / Business Development and 50% Account Management.  You will have the ability to guide others in the development of new business and collaborate strongly with the Sales and Marketing Manager on key opportunities.

It will cover the North Island in key product areas and will work with a team of account managers and be supported by a customer services team.

The business is driven to develop the market and there is a real opportunity to grow the customer and product portfolio within a manufactured and imported model.

You will need to develop a strong understanding of the product portfolio and the opportunities for new developments. These could be produced in-house or sourced from suppliers abroad.
 
 
The Ideal Candidate

You will have had a wealth of experience within packaging or a complementary field, including existing relationships within FMCG and similar businesses.  You will enjoy solutions selling and working collaboratively with product development and sourcing.
Self motivated, you will be eager to learn the products and their production process and will engage with and actively develop B2B relationships with current, future and past customers.
